Read article at Massey Research Online:
Mrs Malcolm’s case study research contributes to the school leadership literature considering the roles of formal and informal learning for urban New Zealand primary principals. Her exploration into the beliefs, practices, and perceived impact of professional learning provides twelve recommendations for future policy makers. Her study identifies the need for diverse modes of learning, varied pathways to principalship, a minimum Masters Leadership qualification requirement, and the imperative expectation that learning is on-going and meaningful.
