Integration of technology into education practice has transformed teaching and learning environments, empowering individuals to become lifelong learners. Teaching with technology can be improved with practice in a collaborative and supportive learning environment. Online learning communities offer opportunities for teachers, as they bring in a collective professional learning experience. Mr Abidin investigated the potential of an online learning community in a developing world context to help in advancing teachers' learning and fulfiling their professional needs in integrating technology for teaching mathematics. He found that participation in the online learning community assisted teachers in transforming their mode of using technology either as a partner or as an extension of self as they gained more confidence in their own learning. The research provides new insights into ways teachers can be supported to develop their professional learning in the use of technology for teaching mathematics through participation in online learning communities.
