Novel Approaches for Multimedia Data Processing
Read article at Massey Research Online:
Multimedia data processing is an active research field contributing to many frontiers of science and technology. Digital audio processing and digital video processing are two important subfields. However, the technological development in these two subfields is still faced with significant challenges. To address these issues, Ms Ji developed four highly innovative approaches. The first two approaches were developed for sound event classification/tagging, two key tasks in digital audio processing. The other two approaches were developed for video captioning, an emerging task in digital video processing. Experimental results demonstrate the effectiveness and efficiency of these developed approaches. These approaches improve the effectiveness and efficiency of digital audio and video processing and will be of significant benefit to both academia and industry.
