This was the inaugural award, developed by Women on Boards New Zealand, a national organisation that promotes greater gender diversity at the chief executive and board level of organisations. I was judged the recipient of this award based on 3 factors - my interactions with and encouragement of postgraduate research students, the development of an internship programme which has seen many graduating students move into fulltime jobs with their internship organisation and hence a beginning career, and the Achieving Career Excellent programme within the School of Business at Massey, which aims to offer women an opportunity for a fast start into the workforce through networking, presentations and the exposure to the world of work. - Women on Boards New Zealand (2013)
