Dr Syed Hasan MSc Econ
Senior Lecturer in Economics
Doctoral Supervisor School of Economics and FinanceI am an empirical researcher at the School of Economics and Finance of Massey University and a fellow of the Global Labor Organization (GLO). I received my PhD from the Australian National University (ANU) in 2014 and previously held appointments at the Planning Commission and the Ministry of Finance in Bangladesh and the ANU Crawford School of Public Policy in Australia.
I am interested in studying applied microeconomic issues, focusing on policy and impact evaluation. I have published articles in journals such as the Journal of Economic Behavior and Organization (ABDC A*), Energy Economics (ABDC A*) and Landscape and Urban Planning (SCImago Q1, Impact Factor: 8.1).
I am an Associate Editor of the Australian Journal of Agricultural and Resource Economics (ABDC A). I have also acted as a referee for more than 15 different (ABDC A* and A-level) journals, including the Journal of Applied Econometrics (ABDC A*), the Journal of Economic Behavior and Organization (ABDC A*) and Energy Economics (ABDC A*).
My teaching interest broadly includes Microeconomics, Econometrics, and Impact/Policy/Program Evaluation.
