My research is in international finance, open-economy macroeconomics, and monetary economics. I direct New Zealand Centre of Macroeconomics, am a Fellow of Asian Bureau for Financial and Economic Research at National University of Singapore, co-direct Open Economy Macroeconomics Research Programme at the Australian National University, and am a research associate at Globalization and Monetary Policy Institute, Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas. I am an associate editor of Journal of Economic Surveys and New Zealand Economic Papersexecutive officer of the Central Bank Research Association, a fellow of  Slovak Economic Association, and a board member of Australasian Macroeconomics Society.
