School of AviationSince joining Massey University Frank has specialised in training systems and resource management for programme outputs. He has undertaken consultancies in programme reviews and re-equipment evaluations. He leads a team who undertake the selection process for student pilot applicants and has faciltated the cerification of the School of Aviation's unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) programme.
RNZAF - Frank flew a variety of military aircraft, specialising in the fast-jet operations. He was an A category Flying Instructor and served on exchange with the Royal Air force. During Frank's 5000+ hours of flying he served on fighter squadrons at Line Pilot, Flight Commander, Executive officer, and Commanding Officer levels, particularly in the South East Asia - Pacific region. He led the "Kiwi Red" Skyhawk formation aerobatic team. Frank was CO of the Central Flying School, 75 (Skyhawk) Squadron, and the RNZAF Strike Wing. He served as the NZ Air Attache in Autralia and was a Base Commander.
