Dr Julia de Bres BA, GDip, PhD
Senior Lecturer
Doctoral Supervisor School of Humanities Media and Creative CommI am a critical sociolinguist specialising in how language is used in the reproduction of social inequality, as well as how minority groups discursively resist imbalances of power. I analyse interview and interactional discourse in contexts including workplaces, government policy, advertising, news and social media, politics, and visual culture. I teach courses in sociolinguistics, discourse analysis and multilingualism.
